All The Best!

Last night was a fantastic evening. I was invited (I still don't know how) by Ronda Carmen of All The Best to an Atlanta Blogger Dinner and it was so much fun! I'm not going to lie, I was a bit nervous about going because I knew I wasn't going to know anyone (except for BPF, praise the lord) but I was fine and it really was a lovely eventing! It was great to put actual people to these blogs that I love to read! Thank you to Ronda Carmen for including me and to all the wonderful women & Brian & Hollis for such a lovely eventing. Today marks 189 years of independence for Greece and it's a big deal. We are ultra-prideful people and we love to celebrate! It is a constant struggle to keep our homes from looking like the parent's house in My Big Fat Greek Wedding. If I would allow it we would probably have a statue of Athena in the foyer (we have one at the restaurant that my husband keeps threatening to bring home.)



Last year when I had about 2.5 readers I wrote about the new Acropolis Museum, it is so beautiful and as I am planning my trip to Greece this year it is for sure one of my first stops! Check out last year's post by clicking HERE!

Today I don't have a lot of time but I wanted to pull some of my favorite fabrics that seem to have some Greek flavor in them. I would approve of any of these in my house (no Sandy, not all of them in one room) but used in moderation would be just fine!

Jerry Pair Trunk Show

Last week I went to a trunk show at Jerry Pair to see highlights of new collections from various fabric companies, lighting vendors, and other goodies. It was such a great way to review the new spring lines. It was quick and to the point and there was wine and a raffle involved! I won a pillow from Galbraith & Paul and I never win anything so I was ultra excited! Here are some of the highlights from the trunk show including killer new fabrics from Dedar (love them) and beautiful new hides from Jerry Pair Leather.

Grace at Kai Lin Art

I was fortunate enough to go to the preview event for Grace, the latest exhibition opening at Kai Lin Art. My dear friend Yu-Kai founded this gallery a little over a year ago and has had some fantastic shows over the past 12+ months. The last show, Popstars & Cokeheads featuring the art of Greg Mike turned out to be a huge success. Grace is must softer and more ethereal. With a host of fantastic female artists including Sun Hong, Mary Farmer, and Anne-Davnes Elser. Here are some poor cell phone photos to give you a taste! Be sure to stop by the opening Friday evening or anytime through May 1st!

SieMatic makes my heart flutter

A few weeks back Mark and I went to the SieMatic showroom in Atlanta for a little lunch and learn. It was then that I developed a drooling obsession with their BeauxArts kitchen. It's beautiful and the cabinet front detail drives me bananas! Here is what SieMatic has to say about it...

The kitchen island kills me, I want it so bad. What really wrecks me though are the cabinet faces. That subtle bead detail that boarders the face drives me insane in a good way. I want this kitchen.

Alice & Thompson No. 9

First of all, if you haven't seen Alice in Wonderland, go see it. Next I was browsing my fabric library and found this No. 9 fabric from Jim Thompson that I thought was particularly interesting considering all of the new found fascination with Wonderland and the Mad Hatter. Jim Thompson is of course known for their silks, but the No. 9 collection was created to fill a void they were overlooking, "The collection aims to meet the expectations of the new and existing customers by providing the highest quality of fabric but also placing a new emphasis on accessibility and versatility. Due to the nature of the designs, the fabrics from No.9 Thompson evoke a sense of comfort and homeliness for a living space. " I love the tea party happening in this pattern and I think it would be awesome in a child's room or a breakfast room of someone's kitchen. It's a bit of wonderland with an adult reference.

Wow, I just realized that today has officially been one year since I began Yummy Scrumptious! Happy Anniversary my dear Yummies! Flip back to March 2009 and read some of my first posts! Here is something pretty to look at, it's a lovely snap shot taken by the talented Sarah Dorio when I styled Brian Patrick Flynn's living room photo shoot. I love glass grapes.

Edward Fields & Tai Ping

Tai Ping is a carpet company founded in Hong Kong in 1956. They make beautiful carpets with incredible custom capabilities. I first got to use their product about a year and a half ago at my Plaza Towers project. We did a beautiful worsted wool and silk rug that our clients just love. My fantastic rep came to see me last week and introduce MWDA to their newest introduction, a partnership with Edward Fields. Edward Fields has been making custom carpets for over 70 years and the patterns and quality are just impeccable. Some of the current offerings are resurrected patterns from the 50's & 60's, along with a beautiful new collection inspired by architectural details. I can not wait to get one of these into someone's space!
