Knoll Nail Polish-Pull It Together People!

Ok people, I am wondering if you don't understand the gravity of this situation. Knoll Textiles, as in Florence Knoll, an in Womb Chair, Barcelona, Bertoia happiness, has come up with the most brilliant marketing campaign, nail polish in colors from their fabric collection. You cannot buy it. You cannot request it. Once it's gone it is gone. The red is amazing (going to get my toes done with it today) you can no longer get it. Now you have a chance to get their second edition, Cato Pink. All you have to do is go HERE and leave a comment telling me what you think their next nail polish color should be. Right now we have one entry, I find that a little disappointing. PULL IT TOGETHER PEOPLE!

The source of my career

Lots of people are familiar with Knoll, but most people don't know that Florence Knoll really pioneered the interior design field. She (along with predecessors like Elsie de Wolfe) is responsible for validating interior design as a professional career choice. Her background in architecture spurred her interest in creating fully flushed out spaces and her belief in "total design." Without fully going into a history lesson, I have to say I am thrilled to see that a book about Knoll has been published! Knoll: A Modernist Universe is getting fantastic reviews and thumbs up from Elle Decor, The New York Times, and Vanity Fair. I love Knoll, I love their timeless products and impeccable quality. But as a designer I must say I love their people. My reps and Knoll dealers are just so fantastic and so good to us here at the MWDA and to me that is so important. It makes using their product so much more enjoyable, so thank you Knoll Atlanta!

If you have never seen their amazing showroom on the Westside here are some photos (courtesy of Knoll.com) and if you want to get the beautiful book, click here!

Going through the Paces

In my constant quest to change up my fitness routine I stumbled upon The Pace Club. It's a personal training style type club which might be the most beautiful gym I have ever seen. I would be way too scared to sweat in this place, but it is really fabulous. I mean, the place is littered with iconic furniture pieces by Florance Knoll, Charles & Ray Eames, and Eero Saarinen. I mean really, when I work out, I need loud angry music and I need to not be afraid to get the place dirty. I can only imagine some hot swiss guy running around behind me with Windex.
