ASID Happiness

Mark and I are thrilled to announce that we have won 2 ASID Design Excellence Awards! We received a Silver Award in the Model Home category and a Bronze in Residential under 3,500 sq/ft. Gold, Silver, Bronze, I don't really care, I am just excited! Can I please tell you how incredibly nervous I was driving over there, luckily a few cocktails in I started to calm down, but I was a total mess. Panic stricken in the car I had the air on full blast because I was sweating and thinking a mile a minute--"what if we don't win anything..that would be sad..." and "what if we win and have to say something? I don't want to make a speech. I'll make Mark do that..." and my worst fear, "I am wearing 6" platforms...what if we win and I go up to receive the award and I fall...oh lord help me!" But all of my fears were quickly put to rest and it was a lovely evening. Thanks to Corporate Environments for having us as their guest, it was such a good time!

This is my new friend...his name is Bird. I heart him.

Sweet Tracy Bennett from CE, she tried to keep my calm by distracting me with wine and silliness.

Flipping Out

I just went to Flip Burger Boutique for lunch and about died of happiness. Flip is the brainchild of Chef Richard Blais, he wanted to "modernize the burger," mission accomplished! First of all it's really really pretty. I mean, just look at the pictures, it's beautiful! AI3 produced the design and they just won an ASID award for their work (congratulations!) it really is brilliant. The food is AMAZING! I am not a big burger person, so I was a little nervous, hoping there would be chicken or something and I was so excited when I walked in and looked at the menu! I had the Shrimp Po Boyger and it killed me dead to the ground, it's topped with a fried lemon slice that was just heaven! We finished off by splitting a Nutella and burnt marshmellow milkshake, again, killed me dead to the ground. This gets 2 tasty thumbs up, 1 for the design which is beautiful and amazing and 2 because the food was sooooo good! Yummy Scrumptious all around!

Love the idea of bar height family style seating!

The Booths are Gorgeous!

Can't go wrong with a Brilliant Super Graphic!

Overall, I think it's a great looking space, there is no denying that. The fact that the food is AWESOME just makes it that much better!

Me & ASID

So a few months ago I submitted something to ASID's Icon Magazine and they published it! So excited! Anyway, ASID stands for the American Society of Interior Designers and it is a fantastic organization. I am so glad to be a part of it and I love how they are always acknowledging their actual members instead of just "big name" designers. Thanks ASID!

To quote myself (because it's so tiny you can't read it...scanners suck...)
"I LOVE WALLPAPER and use it as often as possible in my designs. From something as simple as silk in a master bedroom to add warmth and depth, to a whimsical bubble patter in the laundry room of a dorm building, the patterns and textures of wall coverings have come a long way in recent years."

Regarding the AMAZING print from Flavor Paper, I said....
"Flavor Paper products are brilliant. Their patterns are fun and sassy and their color schemes are fantastic; some are detailed and ornate, while others are just fun."

The pattern above is beautiful print from Flavor Paper called Kashmiri, color: Stone and it was designed by Tibi for Flavor Paper. Check our their website to see some of their really awesome patters, including one that is scratch and sniff (that's right, scratch and sniff!)
