Color in the Kitchen

Here are MWDA we try to be really good about photographing our work for our website and portfolio (about to be updated thank God!) I just did an all day shoot with my friend Sarah and documented our latest kitchen renovation. It's a bungalow in VA Highlands and it was done for a lovely couple and their 2 little boys. They wanted it to be light and bright and lovely, different from the once bachelor pad where the room that is now the kitchen was home to a pool table. Don't get me wrong, I love a good game of pool, but this is much prettier to look at.

I like the floor - a lot - and the moose too. I like the kitchen in a corner with ways out on both sides of the oven wall, good for circulation. But the floor took the most nerve. The more it gets beat up the better. Bring on the skateboards. Nice work!

Thank you! I think the floor is going to age really beautifully, I want to go back and shoot it again about 3 years from now. It wasn't Mark's favorite idea but I think it's going to turn out lovely.

Oh my goodness, it's divine. Feels like you're at the beach right here in Atlanta. I love all the color you all use in your work!

Hi Niki -
What a great kitchen. In my old house (that we tore down) I had a green kitchen with checkerboard marmoleum floors. It had much the same feel as this kitchen. Love it. Will you send me your email - I can't find it and want to include you in blogger lunches.

I really like painted finishes in kitchens & bathrooms. For some reason I am really over the wood look. Thanks for all the compliments! Mark loves doing Kitchens and Bathrooms, it's really his favorite thing and he's good at it.
